The government has finally cracked the whip on three presidential escort officers present during the arrest of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi two weeks ago.
Reports indicate that the officers were attached two the detail of Deputy President William Ruto. The officers have now been removed from the detail.
It is not yet clear why the officers were presented at Sudi’s home during the arrest. Sources close to the matter indicate that officers have been transferred to Homa Bay, Mandera and Bondo.
During the incident, Sudi evaded arrested and the three officers have since been grilled over their role in the matter.
One of the officers identified as Chief Inspector Amos Ekiru has been transferred to Bondo while the two Constables Issack Dida and Simon Siengo to Mandera and Homa Bay respectively.
The transfer was effected after the officer failed to give concrete explanation regarding the matter.
Unconfirmed reports shows that the officers accompanied the DP to his Sugoi home and letter moved to Sudi’s residence. While still at the compound, police officer arrived.
The presidential escort officers did not declare who they were at the time. This was even after shots were fired at the entrance of the compound as the team forced their way in.
Sudi was being sought after over incitement charges. He has since been charged and released on a Sh500, 000 cahs bail.
